Nearly Lemon wearing For iternity, I guess. Canon EOS70D

Nearly Lemon (1991) is a Midwestern-American, multidisciplinary artist. Driven by curiosity, they explore themes of memory, identity, and the connection to the natural world. As a disabled parent and artist, their daily practice is a transitory language, concerned with justice and decolonization. Their research integrates globally and eco-conscious methods of recycled materials, painting, writing, found object sculpture, photography, textiles, digital medium, audio, video, performance, and installation.

Awarded the 2021 On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneurship Grant and Fellowship by the Indiana Arts Commission, Nearly created Grief Space – a shelter comprised of locally harvested, invasive plant material and donated single-use plastics to host community grief support and emotional regulation resources. Nearly completed Lenka Clayton’s 2023 Spring Mentorship program and residency from 2023-2024 of An Artist in Residency in Motherhood.

Nearly is currently developing a new body of work exploring their relationship to the natural world. Recent works include their solo exhibition Can You See Me? an body of work examining parenting with memory loss and propamnesia in January of 2026, collaborations with sound and visual artist YOURHEAD, writing facilitation workshop via Louisville's Golden Hours and artist-poet Sunny Lately, and ongoing creative works with artist-musician TaNrLeMn, and artist-creator Korie Griggs.
